No reliable monthly crowd data for this destination — the proxy used elsewhere did not pass its checks here, so nothing is shown rather than a guess.
Swipe the table sideways for the rest of the year.
Humpback whales fill the Auʻau Channel from November to April and the calm leeward snorkelling runs all year — two different seasons on one island, and the coordinate here is the dry south coast, not the rainforest
Day walks from road access, plus one high-altitude crater descent. No guide needed.
Driving the Road to Hāna as a day trip if anyone gets carsick — over 600 curves and 46 one-lane bridges each way. And note that Lahaina is still recovering from the 2023 fire; check what is open before planning around it.
March and July, which run neck and neck, then Christmas and New Year — August is the weakest of the summer months
Very little on the leeward coast — calm, warm, snorkel-friendly water. Haleakalā is 3,000m and below freezing at sunrise, and sunrise entry needs a reservation booked ahead.
Wailea is the resort end. Kīhei next door has the same water at a third of the price, and Upcountry — Makawao, Kula — is cooler, green and cheap, though you drive to the beach.
The leeward grasslands burn. The 2023 Lahaina fire was catastrophic and parts of the town are still recovering — check what is open.Jul · Aug · Sep

Kept out of the score on purpose. Averaging a rare catastrophe into a monthly number would tell you something false; the warning is the honest form.
Haleakalā sunrise needs a reservation for the 3–7am slot, released 60 days ahead with some held to 48 hours. It is regularly below freezing before dawn — people arrive in shorts and regret it. Kīpahulu is at the far end of the Hāna road.
