Kenai Fjords is at its best for hiking in July to August. Good but not prime in June and September. Crowds peak in July and bottom out in January.

Full park service — every boat itinerary running, visitor centres open, the Exit Glacier road open to cars — is genuinely only late May to early September
Day walks to glacier viewpoints, not onto the ice. No guide required, and the ice is closed to walkers above Exit Glacier.
Seward on 4 July unless the race is why you came. And do not assume a shoulder-season boat ticket means the full itinerary — many of the longer trips simply are not running in March, April or October.
July, and the 4 July Mount Marathon race, which brings up to 30,000 people to a town of a few thousand
Long cold days on open water — six to nine hours on some itineraries, and seasickness is common.
Seward is small and books out early. Anchorage is two and a half hours away by road, or by the Coastal Classic train, which is worth doing as an outing in itself.
Most of this park is ice or water. The walking concentrates around Exit Glacier; everything else is seen from a boat or a kayak.
