Krabi & Railay is at its best for lakes & coastline in November to March. Good but not prime in April and October. Crowds peak in January and bottom out in June.

November–April is dry, and the limestone gives better grip when it is cooler. Rain falls on the Andaman coast from May to October.
Short, steep half-day climbs in heat. More scrambling than walking.
September and October. The wettest stretch of the year, and rough seas cancel individual boat departures — Maya Bay closes 1 August to 30 September.
December–January, especially Christmas and New Year
Railay has no road — access is by longtail boat — and the climbing is not a family activity. The beaches themselves are excellent.
Railay has no road access and prices accordingly. Ao Nang is a ten-minute longtail away with far more choice, and Krabi Town is cheaper again if you do not need to wake up on the sand.

Krabi is a climbing destination before it is a walking one — the routes here are short and steep rather than long-distance.
