Ships sail only in the southern summer, from late October to early April, and most voyages run from November to March. There are no tourist voyages in the southern winter, and almost every trip goes to the Antarctic Peninsula
Leaving December or January late. January is the most popular month and the operators advise booking as early as you can; March is when ships thin out and low-season cabins appear.

Minimum ages vary by ship: on the TourRadar Antarctica voyages, from 8 on some to 18 on others. Check before you plan a family trip.
Most voyages start and end in Ushuaia, Argentina. A few start in Punta Arenas, Chile, and one of those flies across the Drake Passage instead of sailing it.
