Belize: the Cayes & the Barrier Reef is at its best for lakes & coastline in February to May. Good but not prime in January, June and December. Crowds peak in January and bottom out in October.

The dry season runs from November to May, with April the driest month; most of the year’s rain falls from June to November
Mid-August to mid-October for a reef trip — the heart of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June to November.
December to April, the high season
December to February brings a cold front about every ten days — cooler, cloudier days on the water. May is the hottest month.
Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye are the two bases. Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley are about four miles south of San Pedro. Many trips spend their first nights inland, near the Maya sites.
